Finding Your Happy PlaceiGOZEN true

Finding your happy place is not difficult when you implement some simple principles to bring harmony and balance. However, it takes a combination of these principles to reach a long lasting happiness. Our next series is going to focus on some of these principles and on how you can practically apply them to your everyday life. Time to find your happy place!

Is What You Say, What You Mean?

For a group of beings that can communicate with the spoken word, we tend to miscommunicate a lot. Sometimes miscommunications are because of language barriers. Sometimes miscommunications are because of cultural barriers. Many more times miscommunications are caused because too many people fail to say what they truly mean. Still others fail to mean what they say. Is what you say what you mean and what you mean what you actually say? It’s important that you never let your human voice be silenced by miscommunication. What you have to say, no matter how small you think it is, matters.

Intentions & Integrity

If you want to start to find happiness in your life, you need to start looking within. It’s always good to do a little self-analysis and make sure that your integrity is intact. Having a strong sense of integrity means that you constantly check yourself. Are you communicating clearly? Do you hide what you truly feel or mean? Do you omit facts so you seem not as guilty in situations that may night shed a favorable light on your character? Sometimes we may even find that we tell little white lies that seem insignificant. After all, does it really matter if we had only a banana for breakfast or we had a banana, orange juice, and a donut? On the other hand, or if you told your friend you liked her dress when you did not. Who cares anyway? When you begin to notice even the little ways that you may leave out details that change a story – you will begin to feel different too. Too often we find we have been telling ourselves little lies along the way also. These lies can slowly chisel away our confidence. Our integrity is also chiseled away. Physical changes will begin to take place as you make an effort to change the way you communicate. Each time we fail to communicate what we mean by not telling the whole truth or by not saying anything – cortisol is often released. Remember that stress hormone can cause you to gain unnecessary weight. This in turn can cause other health related issues.

Knowing Who You Are

Be confident in who you are. You are a shining star and what you have to share is uniquely you. You have a right to your opinions, thoughts, and the right to, respectfully, express them. Be confident and regain your integrity. Speak your truth and let your light shine! Start today, and remember the wise words of Dr. Seuss, “Be who you are and say what you feel. Because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind!”
