A new online video channel has committed to help fight against world hunger through the growing and distribution of organic food. Launched by Happy Family which is a leading organic brand of food, this program aims to ensure that more children and adults are given access to nutritious and organic foods. This goal will be achieved through a variety of strategies, many of which members of the public will be able to assist with.

The Sale of Reusable Bags

A wide range of reusable bags have been made available for sale and each of these has a different number displayed on it. Each of these numbers is representative of the amount of meals or vitamin supplement products that the purchase of that particular item can provide for needy children and their families. The proceeds of these purchases will also be used to assist schools in underprivileged areas to start healthy food gardens because research has shown many times over that a wide range of health benefits can be enjoyed as a result of consuming organic fresh food instead of the usual processed menu that is on offer in many school cafeterias.

Starting Food Projects in Schools

Another way that these reusable bags will be helping hungry families is that some of the proceeds from sales will be going towards starting various programs that aim to teach people about the benefits associated with healthy nutrition. It will also assist with a range of after-school and summer food programs for children from impoverished areas. This will ensure that these children will not go to bed hungry at night. Another aim of the program is to introduce healthier organic options for food in school cafeterias which will go a long way to improve the eating habits of these children who would otherwise not be able to afford healthier food.

How You Can Get Involved

By taking a few minutes of your time to watch this video, Happy Family will make a $1 donation to the Feed Foundation (up to $25 000). For those who wish to volunteer their time or services to feeding schemes such as UNICEF, the FEED Foundation or one of the many other organizations, all they need to do is search online by entering their zip code along with ‘volunteering opportunities’ and there should be at least a few opportunities that will be suitable for them. By making donations to the various feeding schemes, it will also help them substantially as many of them rely purely on goodwill and donations from the public. By getting involved and even volunteering a few hours of your time each month, you will be able to make a difference to a few needy children and their families, as statistics have shown that as many as one in five children are living in homes where food is in short supply on a constant basis. All of the help these foundations receive, no matter how much or how little it is, is channeled towards those who need it most.
