If you’re like me, your day is a nonstop schedule of work, family, friends, and more. With so much happening, it can be incredibly difficult to find ways to balance your life with eco-conscious living.
Plastic Bags: Convenient, but not GoodWhen I’m strapped for time, I tend to choose the fastest and easiest way without always giving enough thought to the best way. I might swing by the grocery store after work, for example. If I haven’t planned the trip in advance, I may not have reusable bags with me. I’ll be forced to use the far less earth-friendly plastic bags. One step to balancing your life with eco-conscious living is making an effort to find green living tips. This includes things like always leaving a stash of reusable bags in your trunk. With a little bit of research, you can make very small changes in your life that will have positive and far-reaching consequences.

It’s also important to realize that going green in the home doesn’t have to be a total overhaul of the way you live. I’ve implemented many changes in my home to make it more green, and it didn’t require me and my family living like cavemen. Switch to energy-saving light bulbs, keep showers under ten minutes, and ensure your house is properly insulated. All of these things are easy fixes I have made in my household, and they can help your household as well. (If you need more incentive than helping save the planet, don’t forget that these energy-saving, green methods almost always save you money on your heating, electricity, and water bill.)
Another area to be aware of the importance of green living is with the food you put into your body and the bodies of the people you love. Pesticides in food is a very common issue, and all those chemicals could be doing untold damage to the family. After research into these chemicals, I made some important changes to my food buying habits. If it’s available (and practical), I buy organic products. If that’s not an option, look into organic food washes, which will eliminate harmful contaminants in a safe and eco-friendly way.
Having to balance your life can seem daunting, but it’s an area where a lot of small alterations in habit can add up to big change. I’ve definitely seen the positive changes in my life! How have you added eco-conscious living to your lifestyle?
