Another Potion to Brew!

Halloween may have ended but it’s never too late to brew some up new and exciting home remedies! Apple cider vinegar is no exception and should be added to the list of must-haves in your home remedy pantry. Tales of A Kitchen offers an easy recipe to make your own with three apples, a little sugar, and bit of filtered water. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

Health & Beauty

Apple cider vinegar can be purchased at most grocery stores. Organic is best and do not be turned off to picking up a bottle that may seem cloudy, have stringy bits in it, or if you see what seems like a pillow of swirly stuff at the bottom consider yourself lucky. That would be bits of what is known as the “mother”. This is packed full of the good cultures that make apple cider vinegar so good for you and such a versatile must-have. There are so many reasons to add it to your bathroom cabinet. For example it’s a great toner for your face, can actually help eliminate bad breath, whitens teeth, and rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar can help control dandruff too. Vinegar is said to be anti-glycemic and can help regulate blood sugar levels.  Dr. Mercola noted on his website that, “One study found that vinegar treatment improved insulin sensitivity in 19 percent of individuals with type 2 diabetes and 34 percent of those with pre-diabetes.”
