hemp seed oilHappy New Year iGOZEN community! Every New Year I hear people making resolutions to better themselves. They resolve to change their eating habits, their work habits, or their financial habits. It seems that whenever we reach the end of one year we are encouraged to pick ourselves apart at the start of every year. (We can be our own worst critics!) What did you like best in 2014? Here are some of my favorite articles:

Take Time to Love Yourself This Year

Back in June I wrote an article about learning to appreciate who you are today. Taking time to embrace what makes you unique in this world. It’s easy to find fault with yourself. Every mirror tends to remind us of our unruly curly hair, how we are too tall or too short, or how we just don’t measure up to what we think we should be. It’s not a bad thing to want to better ourselves for our health. But when we forget what wonderful creatures we are we lose our Zen. We forget to embrace our authentic selves! Remember while you make your resolutions to appreciate who you are. Mr. Rogers said it best, “I like you just the way you are.”

Making Your Grass Green

It’s important to create harmony and balance wherever you are. In May I wrote an article about staying connected. Not through technology but by being in the now and truly connecting with your environment. Simple adjustments like making sure to maintain eye contact and keeping a positive mindset can help you to connect and begin restoring harmony to your life.

Zen & The Mighty Honeybee

Who knew you could get Zen lessons from a honeybee? July was the time to thank the helpful insects in your life. How we live directly affects our environment. Just this week I opened up one of my hives thinking I would do some quick maintenance. The weather was unseasonably warm and perfect for feeding and cleaning. To my dismay the entire colony had died. This is very depressing for me. I have lost a number of hives to unexplained colony collapse. A huge contributor to the fate of the honeybee is pesticide use. By living your new year chemical-free you can make a difference in your own wellbeing and that of the honeybee.

Surviving, Learning and Remembering

Surviving in a toxic world, learning how to live well, and remembering friends who have passed away completes my list of some of my favorite posts of 2014. There were so many fun and informative articles and posts that it was hard to narrow it down to just a few. From a series on hobbies, the health remedies from the hive, and the recent oil series – we hope you always find something informative and exciting on our blog posts. We keep them archived so feel free to browse while you are picking up your favorite food wash or cleaner. Leave a comment if you find a post you especially enjoy or suggest a topic you would like to learn more about. We love hearing from you! Here’s to another great year!
